Ok, here comes an easy one.

Q. After the marines locate the missing colonists, who drives the APC to the processing station?

Argh, I just left the dvds downstairs again, but I'm pretty sure it was Bishop...

Actually, he stays behind with the flight crew so he can continue dissecting the face hugger. Which to me raises some questions. When Hicks calls for an immediate evac, why do Spunkmeyer and Ferro actually leave Bishop behind?

Was it Frost?

Complete top of the head answer but I think Apone says "Frost, your driving" or something to that effect.

I hate to be a spoilsport, but when there's a new post in this thread I expect there to be info, or at least discussion, about the upcoming release, not a trivia game. (shrug)
We have OT in this OT thread! ;)

Yup, definitely a spoilsport.

Eh at this point all the info's already out. I've seen some threads get highjacked in the OT recently and everyone's seemingly getting really lax about it. Oh well. Besides, at least we're still talking about the movies! :p

Alright. I guess I should give someone else a shot at giving out a question, but I'll do one more for today!

Q: In ALIEN, the evil company Weyland Yutani is never named in dialogue but is named elsewhere. Where in the film do we actually see the name "Weyland Yutani" clearly? (i.e. Not on the beer cans)

I may just buy the first two when they are available seperately. Never liked what they did to Hicks and Newt in part 3 - and that clone scene in Ressurection always makes me sick to my stomach for some reason.

I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon good sir. When the original DVD Quadrilogy was announced, they said that each movie would have it's own separate release. As of this release, nothing has been announced.

I would also like to note that even if they were released individually, there's really no way to carry over all the special features since the documentaries for all the films are on one disc and everything else on another. They would have to re-work the layout and burn more discs. Of course, you could just live with the commentaries which are flat out fun, but that's a stretch.

Believe me, I hate, loath and despise Alien3 and Alien Resurrection, but at the same time there is nostalgic value and the fact we're getting a much improved Special Edition for part 3 and it's restored uncut documentary covering David Fincher doing stuff Fox did NOT want you to see in the past, this may fuel the hate for the film even more.

As for Resurrection? I'll watch it for Ron Perlman. And it's fun to see Sigourney Weaver be so proud of herself in making that basketball hoop.

technically it doesn't.

Weylan-Yutani is on the display screen during the "awakening" of the ship in the beginning.

Technically it DOES! :p

But good eye on that one. You can also see it on Ripley's terminal during the landing sequence when she says "Turbulence".

You wana take a shot at the next question or should I? My next one is going to be a bit unfair.

:p

I'm afraid any question I come up with before watching the movies again would probably be too easy for the fans.

More on topic...

I have yet to get a Blu-Ray player, but I AM going to get this set so I can pressure the wife into upgrading. I don't care if I have to take the cheapest HD route possible either!

Go 1080p, nothing less.

Alright, this question is for those who went one step beyond in just watching the movie, so get ready!

Q: According to the ALIENS commentary track, what is Bill Paxton's favorite line from the film? HINT: It's none of his lines.

"In the pipe! 5x5!"

I have yet to by a Blu-Ray player as well, and this set was the motivating reason for me to buy one.

That and "I" was supposed to actually be on one of the extras discs itself! 2 years ago I was a part of a "meet the fans of Aliens" type documentary that was one of several submitted to be on the Anthology.

However the documentary never made the final cut and was rejected. :(

So while I was once gnawing at the bit for this Blu-Ray to be released, I'm now going to wait until the price comes down (if it ever does ;) ).

Definitely my goal.

I meant that if the wife didn't want to drop the dough on a player and a HDTV larger than 36", I'd just go with a Blu-Ray drive for our PC and a get a better moniter. That would be the cheapest route for us without cutting down on the picture quality for me. :)
