"Underworld"- Selene's FULL AUTO Berettas!

Is there any way to contact the people from Underworld, and ask about the guns? Who owns the hero guns? Maybe ask them.

You could always try a PFC Beretta...such as the Dolphin, this fires full auto, and no worries with laws etc.

Who makes these compensaters!

Bringing this back to the top.

Looking at the movie pics, the pistols do NOT seem to have exhaust ports on top. So there seems to be various versions out there. The compensators really look cool but on a 9mm, seems overkill.

THIS is the best site showing pics of the different versions of the pistols..

Re: "Underworld"- Selene's FULL AUTO Berettas!

I remember bad slides were even a problem with the real Berettas when they first came out- the slides had extra grooves or something on the inside so they could fire while dirty and shed the crud inside, but it also weakend the whole slide- the military units who used/ practiced with them alot were having problems with their people getting punched in the face by their own slides after so many rounds, and they had to send out a ton of upgrade parts to replace them. :confused

Just to keep misinformation in check, the Beretta never had a bad slide. The military was using ammunition that was loaded to too high of a pressure, causing slide cracks. They later added a small catch that would stop the slide from disengaging the frame should the slide ever break, and those are the 92FS. There was only one or two instances of a slide coming off the frame, and that was with SEAL units. Once the military got hold of properly loaded M882 ammo, there were no further issues with the gun, and the slide has a service life of 72,000 rounds.

The compensators on the last pic are wrong. These compensators you can buy, but its completely different from the prop guns ive seen in pics. Unless this comp was used for the sequels?
Also those gun look rubber, wouldnt the heros be metal blank firers?

Anyone fancy doing a run of metal comps like in the 2003 picture? I think they're might be a few interested people

Re: "Underworld"- Selene's FULL AUTO Berettas!

They're really just regular Beretta's with compensators, and the ones in the first film are rather plain. I mean if you want to spend the money to convert two blank firing guns into full auto and then add the compensators, then pay for the blank rounds as someone else already pointed out by all means go for it. IMO a Gas Softair Beretta would be the better choice because you still get the full slide blowback and you could plink around with it in your home. I mean it's not like you can use a blank gun for target shooting so I just don't really see the appeal in spending all that money.

You could get a metal, full-auto gas beretta and fit it with movie compensators, to make a very nice display piece that's also something that's fun to mess with in your home without needing to go to a range and spend money on blanks only to not really be shooting at anything.

Oh and those guns don't appear to have extended magazines, so you're going to blow though those 15-20 round mags on full auto in a matter of seconds.

EDIT: Holy damn I didn't realise how old this thread was. Major necro bump LDR.

Re: "Underworld"- Selene's FULL AUTO Berettas!

Thanks for that pic Del.

Might be easier to try and do the Evo Berettas instead.

Infact ive found someone who makes that exact compensator for the real gun, thing is they are $275! eek.

I think this is the same Comp, used in Leon to.

PFC would be my preference. Not blanks, but caps, and look like the real thing. You can also buy PFC dolphins.

A PFC Dolphin:

Well, they are actually a hard plastic/resin. They are not the hero guns, but stunts...

The real heros were live-fire Berettas, modified for full-auto. They also were originally Lawgivers from Judge Dredd. They were sold through Propstore at one time, and can be seen here:

Re: "Underworld"- Selene's FULL AUTO Berettas!

In the movie KATE BECKINSALE (THE HERO) Used these for close ups where the blank live guns could not be used also used in Holsters close ups . A hero prop dose not have to be a working prop it just has to be used in the film by the HERO for main parts. There are not stunt.:angry In the movie there where many guns used and even the working guns where different some with exhaust ports most with out Some compensators where flat some not :rolleyes

Re: "Underworld"- Selene's FULL AUTO Berettas!

Sorry, but that definition is wrong.
It's the prop itself that is the "hero" - In the sense that it's the version of the prop with the best features for close-up shots.
The further away the camera is from a prop, the less detailed - Therefore less expensive - it has to be to still read on-screen. So Stunt Props are not necessarily used by stunt-actors... Again, the terms are not linked. A stunt prop is merely a cheaper version used when details are not needed - So if it gets broken or lost, it's not such a huge problem.
Like a stuntman being injured isn't such a big problem as a lead actor.

Re: "Underworld"- Selene's FULL AUTO Berettas!

That is what I was trying to say buy "main parts". Shoot work better. Also when I said "Used these for close ups where the blank live guns could not be used also used in Holsters close ups " I was just being sarcastic by saying how much more hero dose a prop have to be than one used for close up by the main character of the move. And yes hero props for the most part are always better if Kate touches them :lol:lol
Great gun anyway you look at it. If anyone is thinking of making the compensators I would love a set. Can't find a set any where

Re: "Underworld"- Selene's FULL AUTO Berettas!

When it comes to live-fire guns, the real, live-fire gun is the hero. Any plastic/resin/rubber/clay/paper/whatever guns made to be used 'when the live fire gun isn't necessary' are stunt guns.

Sure, it can be used by the main character of the movie, but when people refer to the 'hero gun' they are referring to the one that actually fired ammunition (be it real or blanks).

Just like Korben Dallas' pistol from Fifth Element- The hero guns are the live-fire guns. The rubber/resin castings are stunts. That gun was pretty much ONLY used by the hero of the movie, so there's no doubt what actor/character touched it. But you wouldn't call the rubber/resin ones the hero guns.

wisconsin is one of those states

i don't know what i was talking about back then, western stage props sent me a p99 blank firing 9mm handgun with no problem.

the ammo is quite expensive and contains an extremely tiny amount of powder (compared to the real 9mm round) - while it has the power to blow out your ear-drum (don't fire it in your garage without ear protection unless you want to be deaf for the rest of the night) it doesn't always have the power to cycle the slide.

had some machinist friends bore out about 1.5 inches into the barrel after the above pic was taken, but never got around to creating an exhaust port that would come through the front barrel. the ammo was too expensive and the rounds were too loud (lol) so it just sits on a wall now.

more pics here

good luck with your beretta mod
