Walking Dead: King County Sheriff's Badge

Hey, guys?
Check out the Fresno Police Lieutenant badge in the seventh row down, third column over.

Did I just find the right badge?!?!
Granted, the lieutenant device would need to come off, but it looks separate anyway.

Great work done so far, I'm liking this thread alot. And to boot, a police badge from my hometown that may have inspired the badge in the Walking Dead.

Here are better pics of the 100year badge as well as a regular patrolmen badge.

I can get those from the source (Sun Badge makes them, Lawman is a vendor) but Sun Badges are top of the line and priced accordingly.

When I am done with my current prop commitments, I'll give some attention to the King County stuff. Anyone need those eagle collar pieces? They are about 3/4" aren't they?

Are you refering to Sun Badge S110? If so, the points of that badge look too rounded. To me it looks like Ed Jones badge 725GK or 440GK. Just my 2 cents.

As for the collar eagles, can you post photos of what you have in mind?

Ed Jones made the 3rd sample I posted here. I bought a couple as their turnaround time is longer than some of my other suppliers.

I'll order the collar eagles but they are from another manufacturer. I'll get a couple and post pics.

Is it time to ask someone to try to come up with a resin badge for us yet?
If so, this would make a decent, reference I think.
Just gotta fix the wording, and the seal.
 
Great shot of the badge Bronson.

I re-watched a few episodes last night and it's weird, in some shots and even in some screen caps I'd swear on a stack of bibles that the badge is 2-tone. In some scenes it looks like it's silver with gold banners and in some it looks like it's light gold with dark gold banners and then in other scenes it looks all gold with just the silver center seal.

I'm willing to bet that the text ribbons being smooth, and the rest of the badge surface being 'pebbled' has a lot to do with that incongruity.

You know, that and lighting.

Right.
I watched 'Tell it to the Frogs' last night and there's a few shots in bright, direct sunlight and the badge is all gold, except the center seal of course.
I can't wait to get my hands on one of these badges.

If I put a whole costume together I think I'll go with the outfit Rick wears at the end of 'Wildfire'. When they reach the CDC Rick's wearing black jeans and not his Sheriff pants.
 
Is anyone at all still actively working on this?
I'm holding off on getting a set of badges until I know for sure that accurate ones just aren't going to happen.
