4' (AKA 5 foot) Falcon build

In an effort to get as many usable references as possible, I've started the process of 3D scanning the Bandai kit. I'm using a blue laser scanner so I'm getting much more accuracy and detail compared to the standard IR scanners. Even though, even with lasers I'm still not able to capture all the minute details that are to be found on the kit, it's still more than sufficient to validate measurements, armour plate sizes, and greebly placements.

There are some things that are not quite correct. I'm conflicted if the error is with the published drawings, or if the error is with the Bandai kit not being 100% (as we know it's not), then that error being pronounced when it's scaled up to full size. For example that curved band at the rear of the lower deck is wider on the Bandai kit than it is on the reference drawings, but then, all the greeblies are the correct size, so I'm going to have to figure out which one is correct.

Regardless, it's becoming a good reference point, especially when I add laser scans of the full sized greeblies into the mix such as the Centurion & Shinden parts below.

Anyway, just a new toy I'm playing with.

Amazing work Dave! For similar reasons I did a photogrammetric solve of our favorite spacecraft a while ago, to get overall dimensions, check panel lines and greeblie and chip placement etc.
If you are interested we can exchange models. I’m particularly interested in your greeblie scans - if you are sharing those.

Sure, I can do that. I haven't scanned the whole thing yet though. Just what you see in the pictures. I'm only scanning things as I need them for references, and I'm working on the bottom at the moment. So if there's a specific thing you need, just let me know.

Cool! I sent you a link to a folder with my photogrammetry model. It needs to be scaled up by 344.066 to fit the Bustanoby/Maruska blueprints.
I’m generally interested in all digital versions of greeblies. Would be great if you can put your scans of the Interceptor B1 and the Centurion H6 parts in the same folder. The later is specially interesting because it is also found in the big starboard maintenance pit ( Chieftain pit). With enough reference greeblies we could build a 3D model of that pit and narrow down the space for the still unknown pieces there.

Plus digital greeblies are super cool :)
Thanks!

Can someone please confirm that these two bits, from the M60, are only used here? I only have the one pair, and for some reason I was sure I had seen them used in two places.

thanks
