Mos Eisley - falcon hangar 'cubes'

Perhaps a little obscure but has anyone noticed or have info on the
cubic containers on entering the falcons hangar?
Wondered if they were found or fabricated?

I noticed that the same shape is on the crate that the Imperial Scanning Crew is bringing on the Falcon when it has arrived on the Death Star.

I think they may be fibreglass - an old friend of mine aquired one (among other items) in the early eighties.
