At this time: Please include any information that you have on the parts that were used on the studio scale Y-Wing's from the Original Star Wars Trilogy.

Please note what version Y-Wing the part is for. This will make it a lot easier for those that are making the parts maps.

The information provided here is free and open for everyone to see and or use.

The parts maps that were posted here have been removed. This is because the Red Jammer Parts Maps thread by Big Dog (see below) have been updated and are a lot easier to use.

here you go. There seems to be some extra detail added as well.

Dont know what the other side looks like. Just saw it in the pic posted here. They could have easily used two hulls and mirrored the parts. We know they had quite a few 8rads lying around...

Plus lengthwise its a little over half the length on this side so there wouldnt be enough for the other side.

Re: Y-Wing Parts Map for the "Green Leader" Project

I was informed from Tox when I attempted to build one that you need 2 because they're slightly longer than half. How much, I don't know.

Dtssyst, I'm not trying to play devil's advocate here, but aren't those reference photos of Neisen's Y-wing he had on display at Wondercon a couple of years ago? If so, I'm not sure it was the one he even used as his print master for his Tie Killer. I'm just throwing it out there for accuracy purposes.

Very possible, and at the least, a reason for the thread. To correct any and all information/photos so we can be as accurate as possible.

Here are the part #s for the 8rad. And the shovel in the rear is #36

Re: Y-Wing Parts Map for the "Green Leader" Project

The two bits sitting on the 8rad chassis in post #12 are from the 1/35 Nichimo Jagdpanzer VI "Jagdtiger". The parts can be found on the bottom of the tree below:

http://www.therpf.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=583658&d=1454048210

They are parts D24 & D29 based on that image.

Airfix Messerschmitt BF 109E part #14 seen in the third image of Page 1 on the far left. And just yesterday I learned this part sits atop a piece from the Nichimo 1/200 I-19. Don't know the part number. I have plenty more I know but don't have the time. I will answer more tonight.

Re: Y-Wing Parts Map for the "Green Leader" Project

Err, these are my partmaps for my Y-wing build. The base photos are of the Neisen E-FX proto, which isn't 100% screen accurate, at least not when the photos were taken, and of Jason Eaton's build. That is why I changed my mapping to screen used model images only, as seen below. This map is about pieces not present (or somehow altered by me, like going fom cast part to original etc) in the Nice-N Red Jammer kit. It serves my project, not designed as a general instruction sheet. It may be helpful, though.

Feel free to check my thread.

I have paused the build because I realized I was not skilled enough to proceed, so I built a Salzo V4 X-wing for practice. Not saying it's of lesser value, but this Y-wing kit is so bloody rare that I wanted to be more certain of what I was doing.

The Stephen Lane "Tiger" Propstore photos were a brilliant reference source, a treasure trove, to say the least, and it got me working hard for a chance to proceed with this.

Fantastic job on what you accomplished. Everything is helpful and I thank you for your hard work.
The above pages have been updated to the Red 2 version shown at the Star Wars Exhibit(s). A lot of work ahead but we will all hopefully find the end.

This is the parts map that I have come up with so far, it answers most all of Page 1 image 2. The only one that may not be entirely correct is the light blue Italeri Howitzer coloring. That part is correct, but there may be an even smaller part planted on top of it that I have colored blue as well. My reference of there was poor. And the 2 orange parts lay on the Tamiya 8rad chassis. The middle green is the Messerschmitt while the far green is the 25.PDR from what I am familiar with.

The dark green Messerschmitt piece with the Kettenkrad on top is also on the opposite side but it is a casting mounted sideways there.

The Airfix 1/24 Messerschmitt Bf 109 E is listed twice in the top post as possible kits parts are from. And the original guns mounted to Red Jammer were also the guns from the Messerschmitt. Parts 86 & 98 are them!

It would be nice if that list was much more organized(alphabetically). I also have a list of parts that are on these from my research over the past 2 weeks. These are just a few i can think of that weren't in your list. I'll add more as more is solved and they become necessary.

Add these to the list of confirmed besides those in my image:
Aurora Sealab
Nichimo 1/35 King Tiger Pz.Kpfw.VI (Rear engine detail)
Nichimo 1/200 I-19

Two more for the side. This is Page 1, Image 3 edited. I don't know many more for this area. I have most of the cockpit firewall though. But the source image is the Efx firewall. So not sure which of the birds that is resourceful for. But many of the parts do look correct and can be seen in images that show the slanted backside of the cockpit. Maybe I'll post it tomorrow for you all to critique what may be wrong.

RPF research also tells me that the cross-section floating thing in the rear engine pieces(the rings at the end of the T-bar) are also Sealab parts. But I don't have a scan of that kit so I am not totally sure on that one! Just thought I'd put it out there :)

I don't have a nice enough kit scan of the Hasegawa 1/72 kit scan to confirm, but I found these part numbers at one point. If someone could confirm that would be fantastic! Not sure if any are present on the Red Jammer. But this is what I read previously.

The long landing gear strut sitting inside of the large 8 rad part is from the 1/24 Airfix Hurricane I believe.
