I'm a member of the USS Nokomis, a Minneapolis area Star Trek club. Last year at CONvergence, our club replicated 2 rooms from the original Enterprise, and we're bringing them back this year.
CONvergence is held in Bloomington, MN, around the 4th of July weekend - July 6 - 8 this year (only a couple weeks away). It's currently the largest Minnesota con. No where near as big as Dragon Con, certainly, but it's pretty good sized for a local con. Good guests, panels, costumes, parties, props.... you know the drill.
Anyhow, we built 2 original NCC-1701 rooms, one the Recroom (with working food replicators, ceiling arches, and 3 sided monitors, accurate furniture, etc.), and another room with a Tantalus Field, "working" Agony Booth and (definitely) working bar. In front of the rooms we had the DS-9 airlock and a Holodeck arch. The airlock has seen better days, so this year we'll be replacing it with a 3 person Transporter pad, inspired by the Hallmark ornament.
These aren't my pictures, but they're the best I've seen on the net:

This was a pretty frakking big undertaking (with many short tempers and annoyed opinions), and it'll probably be a few years before we do it again, so you might wanna consider your early July plans carefully if you like TOS Trek. We had one lady who's been to many, many cons all over the country over the years (I believe she's from LA), and she said we had the best party room she'd ever seen. It blew a lot of people away.
I wasn't quite sure where to put this... I thought about Community Gatherings, but since it's a ginormous prop you can walk in with many smaller props you can look at, I thought the main page might be appropriate. Mods, if you wanna move this to the Community Gatherings, please do, and my apologies.
There are a few local RPFer's who show, and the occasional Chicago import. And a couple years ago, Scott had a great all Saturday afternoon RPF party in his room. :cheers I think the con even has the Darth Goat Seal of Approval. Correct?
