Hi,
This is the second prop I decided to build. I put together a set of 501st Special Ops. Clone armour for my 6 year old lad and he needed a blaster to go with it. I found some templates and scaled them down by about 25% as the full size Deece was just too big for him.
Templates sketched out:
Cut out and bonded with ABS cement:
Barrel added using overflow pipe and some blue thing I found at a hardware store (it looked about right). The muzzle is a pipe connector that I took a dremmel to!
After some filling and sanding I added the cooling fins and sights to the barrel:
I made the stock out of 3mm foamex and added it along with some greeblies:
And finally I painted it (it has been weathered since this was taken):
