Looking for iRobot USR letterhead

I've been trying to find a good, high-res shot of the USR stationary. In the scene where Sonny is about to make his sketch, it shows some USR paperwork with the logo and address. I took a sceen-cap, but it's a regular DVD and it's to fuzzy and distorted for me to make out or use.

I don't have the skills yet to try and create one from scratch, so I'm asking for some help (since I'm so unskilled:cry)

Does anyone have a high-res/blue-ray screen cap of this letterhead/logo, or maybe can create one, I'd be most grateful:thumbsup.

Thanks all

Bear, can you post your screencap of the logo and address. I haven't seen I Robot in awhile and can't remember what the logo looks like. If i see it i might be able to find you a vector image of it. I did some checking for you and found out that U.S. Robotics in the film used an old logo of a real company called U.S. Robotics. Might be a jumping off point in finding an image of the logo already on the internet. As for the address, there are some fine people on here who seem to be amazingly capable of making out the words on the fuzziest of screen grabs.

THanks Alucardez

Here are the best ones I could get. I checked the real USR logos and none of the ones I found matched.

I move the pics over to the paper prop #4 thread

Here is what I came up with.

Thanks Spike

That looks great, and it's exactly what I was looking for(y)thumbsup

I made the 'USR' from 3 different fonts that I then modified, but the 'U.S Robotics' I did with an un-modified font, so if you figure out what the writing on some of the papers says, I can type it up for you in the same font/colour.

Much appreciated, I'll try to decipher my fuzzy caps:)

Hey Bear,

I see spike helped you out with the logo, looks great. I took a look at the address. Yup it says 1001 West ===== Avenue, accept there is that one word between west and avenue i cant really tell. The address makes sense since the real company i mentioned that was called U.S. Robotics, was the basis for the company in I Robot and also had its headquarters in Chicago.

THanks alot Spike, you did a great job, now I have 2 great logos to work with.:)

Here's a quick jab I did at the full thing.

EDIT: Wow I just realised how big I made this, changed to a URL.

Yeah, I've fussing with my screen-caps but just cannot make out that middle word. I'm hoping that someone with a Blue-Ray copy can provide a good shot of the paperwork, then I can figure out what that #!*%#@ word is, and will be well.

Thanks to both of you for your help. I swear, one day, I will learn how to use this computer thingy:lol

In looking at that screen cap my first impression of that middle word is:

Kennedy

Chicago has a lot of president's names for streets, but no Kennedy Avenue as I can find. So it fits the pattern without using a possible actual address someone would complain about.

I hope someone can verify this for you.

bump

still looking for help with this.

Does anyone out there have a Blu-Ray copy of iRobot? If so, could anyone do a screen grab from the scene where Sonny is about to make his sketch, and maybe make out what the complete address is on the USR stationary?

All I've got so far is

USR 1001 West ? Avenue Chicago Ill

I plead for assistance:rolleyes

I find the address, then life will be complete.:)

Bump

I've been searching the net to no avail. There just seems to be no pics of the USR paperwork anywhere. I'm still hoping someone out there can come to my rescue, then my OBSESSION:eek will be over.

Okay, I have to bump this one. I've been searching since I started this thread and have not found any pictures of the stationary, except for the person that won the actual Sonny sketch through an auction/contest at the studio and posted a small picture of it on yourprops.

I asked if they could let me know what the address was but they said no, saying they had spent alot on this and didn't want any copies made that may be sold.

Is there anyone out there:crywho may have seen this prop, or worked on (or know someone who worked on) this picture and could possibly help me?

Or, does anyone have an HDTV and a HD copy of the movie who could get a HD screencap and possibly try to see what it says, so I can stop this thing from driving me any more crazy than I already am:p:p. I would be very thankful. I only have a regular DVD player and 15 year old TV, so I can't se very much.

Here are a few of the screen caps that I took.

Looks to me like the crossbar in the R of "USR" might in fact be a dot rather than a line. Thoughts?

Actually, looking at the very first screencap, I am less sure of that...the edges look more squared. Still, I think there's at least more space between the other parts of the R and the crossbar.

You may want to expand your search beyond the RPF. I'm thinking experts in HD resolution and graphic design. Those screencaps are fantastic but you need to find out if a deeper look is possible.

Clear as a bell on Blu Ray. 1001 West Simova Avenue, Chicago, IL

The font of the address text looks to me like Handel Gothic.

Sorry, just saw this had been updated. The cross bar of the R is as mocked up above, except the spaces are larger (maybe even 3x larger.) I mean the gaps in the pieces of the letters, including those of the lower right corner of the S.
I have no way to screen grab a Blu Ray, but I took a pic.
Tomorrow, when I am near my computer (on the laptop now) I will upload it, if it is legible.

This is why I love the RPF, I post a request and BANG! I get a reply.

I thank you very very much Vaderman

My quest is over (y)thumbsup:thumbsup

Spike was kind enough to take a stab at the logo, and did a very good job. He even did the letterhead, minus the missing word.

Hopefully, he can take a crack at finishing the letterhead, now that we know what the full address is.

Feel like giving it a try Spike?
