Official X-Men Oakley Thread

Hello! I just finished these babies. They're a version of the Oakley Penny worn by James Marsden in X-Men 2 and 3. They're Oakley Pennys, with side-blinders that have been permanently attached, and Ruby Quartz Lenses, the prop version. As many know they made a type of lens called Ruby Iridium that was widely released, but it wasn't the same as the prop version, which had a silver mirror on the inside of a pair of died red lenses to make an ALL RED mirror on the front, similar to a X-Mas ornament. That's the way you can tell the difference from the prop version and Oakley version, although there are some close versions out there.

This is just a pic I took wearing them. I plan on uploaded high quality close up pics of them once I get the stand finished. Should be this week! You'll have to excuse the lighting for now, my kitchen light is the brightest in the house and its burned out.

What kind of stand do you have? I'm in the market for one too... With the sideblinders on, the glasses don't shut any more :(

Wow, awesome... that is a kind of prop a lot of people are looking for... Did you do the lenses by yourself ?

Here's a few more pics of my girlfriend modeling them for me, and one to show the inside of the lenses.

nice... and the Oakley too!
sorry, i just had to before someone else does! :lol

great to see someone taking the final step to accuracy on these glasses.
i´ve seen lots of Oakleys but always without the correct glasses. :thumbsup

Hmmm... The more I look at these lenses, the more I think something is different about them. I remember that when I would wear the ones before, green lights would completely disappear from the stop lights, but now with these, I can clearly see them. I think they're done with the correct process, but I don't think they're died dark enough :(

Looking to get some new lenses for some Juliets, anyone have any good leads on where to get a hold of the prop style lenses? Been talking with a friend and we think we might have found a way to make a few sets.
