Helloo,

today was Comic Con, but the entry was 51 bucks, to expensive so i thouged i rather spent them on something else.

I bought the Escape Pod seen in Star Wars ANH. There is no official size reference, so i meassured the Escape pod on the CR-90 Blockade Runner and reverse caculated the size of it.

The CR-90 Blockade Runner from the X-Wing Tabletop Game has all 8 Escape Pods, so i measured each.
1 6,16 ± 0,01 mm
2 6,10 ± 0,01 mm
3 6,15 ± 0,01 mm
4 6,13 ± 0,01 mm
5 6,22 ± 0,01 mm
6 6,03 ± 0,01 mm
7 6,22 ± 0,01 mm
8 6,06 ± 0,01 mm
that makes an average Diameter of (6,13±0,01) mm

CR-90 Blockade Runner length 150m, Model length (332 ± 1) mm -> makes a scale of 1/452
Escape Pod model diameter 50,33mm, calculated Escape Pod diameter 2771mm, -> makes a scale of 1/55

That makes approximately a Diameter of 2,77m and a length of 6,05m

Now to the model. It has 3 sprues, one for the Body, one for the droids and one for the rcs and main thrusters.

The model is highly detailed, i compared it with the Studio Scale, i only found one detail missing, its a pair of rods/screws near the "big circles". It is probably too small to make it seperate parts and on the model it would "stand in the air"

Number 19s are missing

The build was simple, i found negatively that the instruction was a little to small, and the thrusters dont have pegs and holes, so u have toe eyeball them together.
The RCS Thruster on the rear where full, so i carefully drilled them open

Here is the finished Escape Pod, if you dont mind the small scale of 1/55 its a great kit for 20 Bucks and also has two droids, C3PO and R2D2 both around 1/48 Scale, w(h)ich could be used for a "1/48" Millenium Falcon or X-Wing. Both are hollow and could be wired for light and fit nicely to the 1/48 Chewbaca
