1912 Henry Jones B prop Grail diary Tool 2.0

Hi guys.

You have now the chance of owning something very cool. You are looking at one of my absolute best grail diary creations. One of my two 1912 grail diary twins. These two are made identcally to one another and are made in the style of the famous B prop grail diaries. It features the famous Laid paper only the B prop grial diaries have. Its aged in the exact same way as those diaries as well. So its a very faithfull to the B props but its so much more. This diary is made as a real book and not a prop with repeated pages. I have made new additional drawings to fill in the gaps. These invented drawings are made with the highest attention to detail in terms of style and the handwriting. No Font just a complete handmade Henry handwriting that blends in perfectly with the originial and gives the reader the impression that it is written in by one person for over 40 years of his life.

A huge undertaking was done with this. This here is not your everyday diary. Its a diary that is a a ''B prop'' but also continuation from the scene we see in 1912. The scene where Henry draws the knight for the first time. Hugely inspired by the Christies acution diary in terms of aging and style.

So much work has gone into this. So much planning, refining and refurbishing. Such nitpicky and tedious work gone into this but it finally paid off. Its my best work and my personal treasure!

Yes, this is a Holt grail diary that features all the original handdrawn illustrations found in the hero prop and B prop. It is mixed with a ton of new invented handrawn illustrations with a spot on Henry handwriting faithfull to the original. All mixed with scribbles, hints, clues, illustrations connected to the grail lore. No story, no personal thoughts only illustrations and clues as it should be!! A Tool used in search for the Holy Grail. And Indy says it so right, ''A complete record of his search for the holy grail. '' and this is exactly that.

This diary comes with all inserts found in the hero prop mixed with new additonal inserts. All in the same style as the originals an made on different types of paper.

All made from scratch with a blank piece of paper and raw undyed leather. The leather is handcut, handshaven, handdyed and handtooled wiht the exact same embssoing tool seen on the real grail diaries. Unlike the Real grail diaries it has the border updright but on the real 1912 grail diary it has the border flipped around. My diary is made exactly like that. The pages are printed out and bound using a kettle stitch like the original. The page aging are matched to the B prop grail diaries which is way more realisitc looking and that is the goal here.

However, aging this type of paper is a whole'nother ball game. Very tedious work. But in the end they end up looking exactly like the Christies and Williams diarries. Allways loved those!!

Like mentioned, it features the laid paper from the infamous B props. Which took forever to source down and is very rare! Very difficult to source indeed as I dont think this paper is made anymore, not in the way it used to be made. It just feels so much more vintage and turnes out so lovley and old looking when aged. The paper has the feeling of being crisp just like the B props and the video will show exactly that. The paper is also a very sturdy and strong paper.

Lets see...it has a real french franc instead of the watercolored one. No blue sharpie marking on maps etc like in the hero prop either, only water color in this book. Its made as real as possible. Nothing ''prop'' over it.

So yeah... No prop replica only a real deal - hard life - every day abuser. A Tool in search of the Holy Grail. The one exact book Indy brings all the way back to Brunwald castle. You know.. ''You think my schon will be that schtupid and bring my diary all the way back here'' LOL.

All drawings are refurbished and given an extra care to make them resemble the real grail diary illustrations even more. Handwriting is also refined. One thing I really enjoy doing is putting a faded and greyer looking illustration next to a crisp black one. That is such a nice touch IMO. I allways loved that detail of the Hero prop. For example, think of the blacker Melchizedek next to the greyer cup / knight page. Such a lovely detail!

OK, that all said, here is one of the fun details where its gonna connect even more to 1912.

1912 we see Henry draw the Venice knight with an X above its head. That X should still be in the diary thruout the entire film and it allways bothered me that it does not show in the Library scene. However, I fixed that for this diary right here. See photo below.

Will come with Certificate of Authenticity
Cheers

Here are the 1912 twins. Two identical books made in the same way, same laid paper, same leather same weathering style.

And here is the scene. The diary in the scene is a ''1912'' diary. See the lighter caramel cover edge and the X above the knights head.

Who made this? Is it still possible to buy one?
This was made by Indiana Holt, the guy who posted it. He's got an interest thread for his diaries here:

Although this was his 1912 diary, a really special one.
