Advice on my first costume (Cyclops)

I hope I'm asking this in the right place. I found this forum a little while ago and have been lurking, seeing the amazing things everyone makes here!

I'm trying to make my first real costume, and for years I've wanted to be cyclops for Halloween, but I always thought I was too scrawny to wear anything skin tight! I'm not quite as scrawny now, so I'd really like to try.

I think I know what to do for the goggles and most accessories, but I have no experience with bodysuits! I really want to be Ultimate style cyclops from the comics.

And I found someone on the net who did an amazing job of it. This is not me! But I think his costume is great.

Can anyone tell me how he got his cyclops tights to look like that? What type of material might that be ? And could you please point me to where I might find some or how to make them? I'd really appreciate any advice!

I have looked at lycra zentai suits but this guy's just looks so much cooler. Also it seems like navy blue is a rare zentai suit!

For just the undersuit, have you looked at any wetsuits? Single-tone wetsuits can be fairly affordable, and they'll give you that skin-tight look.

The other thing I can recommend is any type of compression wear (for exercise/weight-lifting). Usually you can find single tone pieces, usually with just a small logo at most that can be colored if necessary (or covered, as with the chest pouch on that pic of cyclops). Those would be the next places I would look.

I was thinking about under armour but they aren't cut quite right. Cyclops' has the high neck. But you're right. I should look at others. And I'll look into wetsuits, that's a great idea! thanks!

I think I may have found the bodysuit he used. Or one similar. There's a wetlook navy bodysuit on a german site called DHYA. It's short sleeve, comes in navy and can have a turtleneck like cyclops! But there's not a lot of pictures to see what it'll look like and the shipping is four weeks

Hi Funkitron - keen to create an ultimate cyclops myself. Thanks for the tip on the body suit. Found the German site. But not the turtlenecks - can you recall which option you found those under? Cheers Flynn
