Thank you everyone, here's a small run down of the WIP
Starting the sculpture in Chavant NSP medium
Masking off the clay to do a test dome
Test dome sculpted in water clay and sealed
Test fibreglass dome
Returning to finish off the sculpting
Re-sculpting the mandibles as they where not in a film generic position
The finished sculpture
Breaking the sculpt down for moulding, Brass shim was used on certain areas and copper piping was used for the pin and peg joins
Sculpt prepped for silicone moulding
Silicone mould finished a one piece skin mould, the brass shim created areas so that the mould would release from the casting easier and not apply extreme pressure on the silicone mould in removal
Cold cast polyester resin castings, the main head shell is fibreglass reinforced. the dome was re-sculpted on a resin casting and then broke down to create the vac-form shape for the clear dome. the stingy like drool for the sides of the mouth were created on the cast and then moulded later. The lips have not been sculpted and moulded, they would have to be sculpted with milliput if desired which isn't that much work.
