So a little more than a year ago Indy Magnoli started the project to recreate the iconic aviators from the first film. They were custom made for the movie so obtaining them was impossible without finding the original prop. He seeked to change that and that he did. He spent a very long time perfecting the dimensions and especially the lenses to get them just right. I was the first to receive the final prototype before mass production so I will be reviewing them here.
So right out of the shipping package you get a nice leather Magnoli Clothiers glasses case. The glasses come double wrapped inside in a plastic bag.
The inside is a soft black felt material.
The lenses look perfect and the glasses themselves feel strong and well built.
The mock ZEISS logo is very convincing and no one could tell that it is different characters unless under very close examination and knowledge of the real brand.
As for function. They serve their purpose of normal sunglasses, but I wouldn't treat them like any other pair. Lol. The fit on my head is a little loose. I have kind of a small head. If you have a medium or large head you shouldn't have to do anything to them. If you head is on the smaller side, you can very carefully bend the pivot points for the arms inward until you get the desired fit.
This is just a picture I thought would be nice lol. My yet to be finished Chiquita next to the glasses.
I am very pleased with how they turned out. This is one of those rare props that are overlooked and not replicated. The average person may not know the difference but these are a dream come true for die hard fans. I highly recommend them. And for the price, they are unbeatable.
