Back to the Future Diamond Select Marty McFly 2015 Hat Question

So I recently ordered the 2015 Marty hat from Diamond Select and overall I'm pleased with the product and know it's not a screen accurate item but it's the best available for purchase. Unfortunately I missed the boat on the official Nike Footwear fiited hats a while back.

My question is is it possible to borrow from one hat and "fit" the back portion of the Diamond Select velcro hat? I have no experience with anything like this, I'm very passionate about props but don't really have the expertise to attempt a project like this. Just looking for opinions and suggestions on whether or not it's even worth tackling. It seems to be made out of pretty solid material. Almost too solid, but the material itself I can live with I'd just really like to close up the back and make it flush all around.

Any opinions would be appreciated!

There was a user who did this, and also added lenticular material under the brim as well to make it truly SA if I'm not mistaken.

I'll have to search around to find it.

Seriously. Luckily the Diamond Select hat is relatively inexpensive, so if you screwed up hacking one hat into another it's only going to put you in the hole about fifty bucks, but I still I don't know if I could pull the trigger
