Batman Utility Belt Suggestion?

Heya, I've been dreading to have a good (maybe functional) Batman Utility Belt for quite some time. I have a nice Reevz666 cowl, and costume. Only thing that's lacking is a good utility belt. The belt I prefer is the early 2000's comic pouch style belt(preferably in a shade of yellow). Anyone have any suggestions on getting one put together, or can someone point me to someone good that commissions them? I also refuse to use that 10 pocket M1 Garand belt lol.

Any help appreciated, thank you.

I've always like the French leather ammo pouches. Sorry, don't know the year they were made. I used to pick these up NOS three double pouches and a belt for around eight dollars ten or so years ago. Bought two sets and gave away a couple of the doubles and the extra belt.

Looking quickly I can't find any belts, only pouches, but that's easy enough as the belt isn't really seen anyway.

Here's a pic.

There are a few on ebay also, just search "french ammo."

Here's a pic of some in use from the batman costumes thread here.

I can't give an exact tutorial for the pouches and belt because they were made by paulv70.
The pouches are static and are wood blocks covered with carefully folded pleather and false snaps which were then glued to the pleather belt (EDIT: he may have used double-sided carpet tape instead (or both), I'm not sure anymore since it's been so long ago).

I cut off the excess pleather from where it closed in the back and attached it to where his false buckle was in front. I cut a false buckle of my own out of foamies and glued it down to the pleather I just added.
I then took an old belt of mine and secured it to back of the utility belt with hot glue and screws into each wood block.

There are only 4 false pouches on each side so I have room for functional pouches for my wallet, keys, etc. to go in the back.

@Kittlemeier, oh yeah. I saw those before. The french pouches would make a great addition to a belt. I was thinking about giving it a try.

@Darius Alucard Oh wow! Those look very comic accurate. I see where you're going. I might just give that a try, then. Looks very Alex Ross-ish. :thumbsup

I know you probably want something a little more edgy but as far as construction goes , I made my working belt boxes for my '66 Batman Utility Belt replica from leather covered aluminum boxes.

The boxes I custom made and are tough as nails.

The tubes are just painted wood.

Anyway, here's another belt...

Kelly from KMD Theatrics used to make some nice belts but I don't know if he still does. I have two of them, a tan golden age style and a yellow one that looks kind of Jim Lee-ish.

That '66 belt looks pretty damn rad. It's even more rad knowing it's all metal. I saw the KMD Theatrics belt, it does look Hush-ish (Which is what I'm going for). It's unfortunate he doesn't make them anymore, though.

But hey, thank you all for the suggestions. But I think I found what I'm looking for that I'll work on. Well, it's more of a mod. I might just post on what I'm modding on here, and/or Brother Hood of the Bat forums.

I use the 10pocket belt on all my Batman costumes. You can find them on ebay and military stores. FYI: I keep it stocked for when the kids start with the questions.

Looks like a M1923 Cartridge Belt dyed black. Neat idea!

I made a pattern resembling KMDs and made my own. I've gotten better at the sewing, a lot just came by trial and error and lots of practice.

I too like the French ammo pouches. I also have bleached olive drab fox outdoors 10 pocket cartridge belt and used that. Oddly enough when bleached the canvas turns a good shade of yellow. I just dyed it with some ritt yellow dye to brighten it up and glued on a plastic sheet over the existing buckle to finish the look. I can fit everything I need. Keys, phone and ID. I even carry a monocular scope, evidence collection kit, flash light and cuffs for when kids ask what's in the belt.

I know you said not the 10 pocket M1 Garand belt, but this is just to agree with Lgwapo about the bleach. This belt was originally army green. One wash cycle with bleach and this is the color it turned into. The buckle is from a kiosk at the local mall that sells belts with superhero buckles.
