I was looking to add Axel Foley's badge from BHC/BHC 2 to my badge collection, when I realized something odd about all the photos I've seen. Why do all the pictures of this badge show Foley is an Inspector? I can't find anyone mentioning this is a goof, but isn't Axel supposed to be Detective Foley?
Never noticed that before. A little Google-foo, and that looks like it was an actual badge style from the 40s:
Doesn't really answer why they went with that one, but at one point Inspector was a title in some departments that would fall somewhere between captain and commander, definitely over Detective (see still not helping lol) He was posing as a customs inspector at one point, but it's not like he would have been carrying around a second badge lol just to flash it then lol. Maybe it was the only Detroit badge the prop house/source had that would kinda work.
