Bigluelok's Boba fett Helmet

Hey everyone of course I'm new here and have been reading through Antmans build and ave decided to take on building on for myself for SDCC 2014. I will be using RafalFetts templates. I'll be keeping track of everything here. I will also try to keep a running tally as well. I will be doing one to see how it looks using manila folders for trial purposes since I already have the folders. I am currently just gluing the templates to the the folders. So far my supplies list consist of: Boba Fett helmet Template Manilla Folders Scissors Glue well i started a new helmet using this Boba Fett Helmet Blueprints/Templates alright here are some progress pics

I know to cut out that hash lined portion of the dome. I have a question now do i just put some fiberglass resin on the helmet as is in one part or would it be okay for me to resin it in 2 parts dome and rest of helmet? also is there a better brand of resin or does it really matter?

I would fit the helmet together first. I would not resin it in two pieces, because one piece could warp slightly and it would look way off... Combining both pieces will insure that it stays rigid and be able to look more sleek as one piece. I would also suggest doing a little more detail now, because detail work in the resin/bondo stage will be MUCH harder.

thanks for the info pyro. I will do the ears and cutting some of the face shield. This one will just be a quickie helmet for Halloween so it will be far from perfect, but after Halloween I will do a pep Fett helmet for comic-con 2014.

alright so this helmet was a bust. made it to small for me so i trashed it luckily i didnt get to far from the pics posted above. i am starting over using the Boba Fett Helmet Blueprints/Templates posted in the first post. this time making it a little bigger. i'm currently just cutting the pieces out. we will see how far i can get this weekend

Got the helmet all glued up, ears done New i need a range finder and stalk also need to fiberglass and bondo

Picked up fiber glass resin and fiber glass cloth today will be fiber glassing tonight

Helmet got its first coat of fiberglass resin today. And half way done with back armor
