Bioshock Infinite - Functional Shotgun

Hi guys!

Months back, my girlfriend made an Elizabeth's cosplay and asked me if I would be her "Booker". So I accepted because the shotgun of his game are one of my favourites.

The fact is some people did this prop before, and I wanted to go more far. For this reason, the I+D starts:

The "China Broom" it's a shotgun based on the Winchester's models 1887 and 1901. These lever-action shotguns have a process of reloading that ejects the empty shell while reloads a new cartridge stored in the lower barrel.

Here you have some youtube videos that could help to understand the mechanism

But videos aren't clear: I needed pics of the parts.
Well, in this situations, eBay could be our best friend. I searched "Winchester 1887" and "Winchester 1901" and found the pieces separately, with multiple pics. To see these pics, I uploaded they to my copy folder:

Also I uploaded two PDFs of Chiappa (the current manufacturer of these models) that helps more to the understanding.

The process is undocumented, so I try to explain what I did with this video of the prototype (sorry for the bad quality):

Having seen the prototype works, I do the definitive part in MDF and made the molds. This was a perfect chance to try the aluminium powder for the casting. Also I say that some pieces are made of MDF and painted with poliuretane-aluminum mixture. MDF absorbs the resin and gets solid and hard.

After testing in a convention, the shotgun works well, but needs little rectifications to improve. But it works well as you can see:

Thanks for read and I hope enjoy :)

Can't believe nobody's commented on this yet, that's a really impressive mechanism! Also, the finished piece looks fantastic (and pretty durable, based on the way you're handling it in that video)!!
