BTTF Plutonium and Case

I'm prototyping this for a run I'm going to be doing in the junkyard,

it's a single cannister version of the case from BTTF.

It's a work in progress, still many holes to drill and rivets to pop.

Interest thread in the Junkyard.

Re: BTTF Plutonium and mini-case

As an aside, one of the things that has long since confused me :confused is why did the effects and art depts depict Plutonium as a reddish colour clear rod, when in fact Plutonium is a metal that has a lead-like colour to it?

I'm guessing it was because a gray colored prop would look kind of boring. Red looks flashier on camera.

Re: BTTF Plutonium and mini-case

Probably for the same reason that they made Plutonium green (and the consistency of dish soap) for "The Manhattan Project".

Re: BTTF Plutonium and mini-case

In The Manhattan Project it is explained that the plutonium is suspended in the green gel. If you watch the bomb making sequence he rinses away the gel leaving only the plutonium flakes left in the strainer.

Also, I am sure you are right, to make it look cool. The same way that the Uranium rod in the Simpsons is green.
