Bubble Lights...Looking for a DIY but coming up empty

Hi Folks. I have been wanting to do one of those air bubble light fixtures for awhile now and I sure as hell don't want to pay the 1500-2000.00 dollars they want for one. Considering they are nothing more than a Clear PVC tube with a fish tank aerator and some LED's.

Anyone have any ideas where I could browse a few DIY's etc or has anyone here built one?

Those are almost perfect! Do they make them in round? Also I am wanting to do hidden wiring like in the little fake "fish tank" types. The ones that almost look like lava lamps with a round aerator with LED lights and the fish move around due to the bubbles. I am looking to do it without the fish where everything is encompassed in the base. (I am hoping my son gets sick of his soon so I can take it apart and see how everything works but I think that is a while off )

I am looking to build something like this but as you can see the price is ridiculous for what it is.

Calming LED Bubble Tube

Hell the 40" and the 80" are the SAME PRICE!!... gee which one would I get?


Also if I can build some of these cheap enough I would donate one or two to the behavior room in my sons school, he is autism spectrum and I think something like this would be fantastic for them.

The high price is the cost of the acrylic tubing.
Cast acrylic tube is VERY Expensive.
