Captain Amazing from Mystery Men

Some friends are wanting me to do a Captain Amazing cosplay from Mystery Men, but I dont know where to even begin with the base suit. Any ideas? Any sources?

if you used rubber you'd melt inside the costume. JoAnn fabric sells Yaya Han fabrics which would be great for the costume, just use a foam filler to puff out the costume. Just nailing the exact color would be the issue.

McCalls male jumpsuit for the base.

Real metal or resin for the metal bits.

you could glue layers of foam over a morph suit add another morph suit over the top (like a sandwich) and stitch the lines in, like they do on a muscle suit ?
