I haven't been able to determine if the Batmobile on display was one of the many replicas in existence or the original. Many news stories say it was original, but I doubt anyone doing the reporting would be aware of the replicas or know if it was one.

Anyone know?

George Barris made 5 originals for the BATMAN television series. Would be a real shame if it were one of those...thanks for reporting this.

I think I've heard that all 5 (or 6) of the original screen used ones are in private collections.
So this is very likely to just be a replica...
But still a well made one I'm sure, a shame to lose it...
