I'm am sick and tired of hearing people pronouncing ShinkenJA as ShinkenGER. There is no GER in the romaji. They pronouns in the as Shinkenja in the show and theme. All the sentai that had GER used JA. So you you want to pronouns sentai names better just JA in said of GER. Rant Over.


Hi I'm working on a Shinken Red costume. This isn't my first time sewing spandex. I have 3 Spider-Man costume already made and also this is not my first time making a kimono.

But this is my first Sentai/Power Ranger costume. There where was really only two that I care about and wanted one. Mighty Morphin Red Ranger or Shinken Red.

Here the my VLog. I going to try to go over what I cover in the video in this post.

When I'm done with the suit I am going to try making the Morph form both Shinkenja and PR Samurai.
Here's a look at my first try.

I am going be making most of the suit. The parts I making will have a few modification. But what I am not making is the belt buckle, Shodo Phone and the helmet.

I just go in the belt buckle and Shodo Phone. The samuraizer is a piece of crap.

My helmet is coming from sunshine.1818‏ on ebay. I like the description he gave and the way it looks.

I am making it more kimono like. It's going to be spandex but I'm not going to have a zipper.

And yes I'm making the PRS ninja mask too.

I'm making the Shinkenmaru our of craft foam and I'm gaving it a hamon. I'm not doing the toy route because I want something full size and I noticed size of the disk in the belt is not the same size as the disk on the sword.

Shodophone holder I'm making but if you want to pattern just ask.

The the gauntlets I'm going going with toke or Japanese styles gauntlets. With there embroidery kanji on top that I made.

My biggest change is the boots. My making tabi boots why because I keep finding free pattern online and there Japanese.

I am going to have my with a silver outline and a tiles filled.
