Thanks for the recommendation and compliments. I hate to be a bummer, but I didn't make my Marge wig! The wig is manufactured by a company called Lacey Wigs. It is a very tall and hollow. It arrives flat when it ships out. The only things I did to it were to fluff out the top (I stuffed with a few plastic bags for body) and comb out the bangs. You can order them from here:
Blue Beehive Wig
I distribute for Lacey, and I always thought that wig had a lot of potential. I had it for sale at my booth last year, but no one really even gave it a second look. So, I decided to keep it for myself and wear it at this past Dragon*Con =)
That being said, I've actually had a lacefront Wolverine wig done by my regular stylist here in Atlanta (Paul Trantham at
Steve Hightower Hair) previously. I've worked with him for a couple years and basically the way it goes is: I find the base wig/hair parts/references, he works his styling magic, I pack it up and ship it out. I found the lacefront base at my favorite local hair shop (
So Good in Duluth, GA), and I ordered the sideburns from Lacey Wigs (also have lace backing). As long as you take your time lining up the sideburns and the wig, they blend together pretty well. This is the only photo I've tracked down thus far:
I know there are more, but sometimes these things elude us. I'll keep looking though. I'm pretty sure this guy is a member here, so perhaps he'll pipe in with some more photos.
