DOJ Batman Suit on a Budget

So I'm a typical poor uni student, atm and I'm trying to put together a DOJ Batsuit.
So far this is where I'm at

Utility belt- Cost $25
Had it 3D printed with a local 3D printing service for $25 (Don't know how the dude even made profit from that but bless him)

The Suit- Cost $30
Bought a grey compression shirt and pants for $30 (which I then spray painted with a chrome for a more patchy look) Then I cut out a chest piece out of 2.5mm foam (Which needs repainting now that I look at it)

Gauntlets- Cost $10

This one was interesting, I used some faux leather prom style gloves which I then just cut off the hand part, then cut up some foam fins and then a band around the wrist

Gloves- Cost $10
Bought some swat style gloves, painted the knuckles gold Ezpz

Boots- Cost $30

This one was interesting, my friend actually had some long black boots from a Anikin sky walker cosplay which his wore once, so I bought it off him and painted the toes gold. Only downside is that they're like 2-3 sizes to big

Cowl- Cost $20
Now this cowl I'm not really all that happy with. Originally I made my own, using a template I found online out of 2.5mm thick foam. Then coating it in Acrylic Silicone, as good as it looks for the price, it's impossible to move around in, and get in by myself and I didn't really scale it to my own size, so it a bit too big.
I was thinking of maybe getting this cowl? It's not that much but I haven't seen any reviews of it anywhere.

Was this your first attempt at the cowl? Also have you looked into possible trying to make it out of latex?

Personally the cowl in your link looks tragic (I mean the eBay one. For a foam attempt yours isn't too bad) and those cosplay make are normally awful and ridiculously huge. Your best bet would be saving up for a decent cowl, it's the one thing I'd always suggest people buy unless they can sculpt and cast themselves.
Lookig good though. If you wanted more detail on the body suit you could puff paint all the little details.

I was thinking the same thing about the Ebay one, didn't really wanna trust one from China like that. I've seen a few people on here talk about using puff paint for the detailing on the suit, but I'm not too sure how to go about it?

If I were to make one out of latex, I'd need a sculpt of the actual cowl to do so. Unfortunately I'm pretty garbage at sculpting so that's out of the question. I don't really have the money to spend if I screw it up either..

For the cost of getting a sculpt and casting it. I'd go with this cowl. Not 100% accurate but for the price it's great.

For the puff paint find a high definition pic of the pattern then copy it onto the fabric. It's essentialy loads of little lines

Alright cheers, I'll give the puff paint a go today. I've got a Jakk's Pacific Batman on my desk, and that's a pretty bloody good reference.
But yea, that's probably gonna be the cowl I'm gonna end up getting. I'm just gonna have to take one for the team with that one.

It's the cheapest DOJ cowl that's decent I've seen however of you check ebay they do go on auction every now and again so you may grab one cheaper. Also with the emblem if you get foamies and use a sharp knife and ruller you can etch all the lines, use a hairdryer to define then 2 coats of liquid latex it works great i did it on my arkham budget suit few years ago.

Also for your boots being to big buy cheap plimsolls that fit remove the outer sole but keep the inner soul (like ballet shoe) then put it on before the boots it will help with the fit, if there's room you can pad the bottom for extra height as affleck is 6'4 lol
