Well,
Talk about a complete toy cannibalisation!
Super Awesome job on this near fully scratch built ST-TOS tricorder!
I am envious and impressed, all at the same time.
I have not built any serious prop models, nor do I have the space for such model building, in many yeears, now ( I only buy/purchase, now ), but even with my own meager model skills, I have no way of making/shaping/machining metal parts, from scratch, for such an endeavour, as you have done!
So, all sorts of kudos to you,,sir!
Thoroughly impressive feat and build!
There are ST-TOS tricorder metal parts kits, found on eBay, machined by a gentleman by the name of Jon Paul Lussiet ( Jon Paul Trek ), but I am not sure these metal parts kits would work with a DST/AA toy tricorder build, or not, without modification.
They are made to be used with more conventional prop replica shells and the big challenge with those kit parts, is finding the closest vacuformed shells to use with them OR find someone to 3D print corresponding fitting shells to go along with those produced machined metal parts!
Super metal frame rebuild of this DST/AA ST-TOS tricorder!
It looks fantastic!
Thanks for posting your TOS tricorder build!
