Hello there! I'm Lorenzo from Italy.
This is my first Build Thread on theRPF...so let's getting started.

I always been a giant Edward Scissorhands fan, I really love the film itself, but also I really love the Edward's costume and hands.
I already own two GREAT pieces of it : A screen-cast moon buckle and an authentic vintage medal brooch ( the same one used on the actual costume)...those pieces were useful to scale down the exact measurements of the blades, plates and bone inges.

Here the roughly demostration of how I scaled the actual measurements of blades and plates :

Well, after the measurements, let's move on to the blades :)

In three years I collected HUNDREDS of reference photos(from screencaps, archived photos and videos, exhibits and screen-cast replicas) of each blade (many of these photos are still inedit for most of the people).
Untill now, I sculpted :
LEFT HANDS : thumb, index, middle and ring finger.
RIGHT HAND : Thumb and Plate.
I painstakingly sculpted the blades out of clay ( I'Il mold and cast them in resin). As you can see I didn't make the handles and the blades as one piece...simply because it's easier for me to sculpt two pieces instead of one. Each original blade was one cast piece(handle + blade)...but I'm not a Stan Winston Studio sculptor :(

RIGHT HAND PLATE :
I have just to make the hammered texture on it nd a little bit of sanding. Then it will be ready for moulding.
The original plates were hard rubber...but I'd prefer make them out of resin.

FOR NOW, this is it.
The road is still long. I'Il post all the progress soon
Have a good day to all
Lorenzo

You clearly did your due diligence in the research of the prop. That's unusual for a newbie on the RPF. Kudos, sir. You will do well here and I very much look forward to your build.
Well done! :thumbsup

I agree. You've really put in a lot of hours researching this. I love Edward Scissorhands. Eager to see your progress on this!
