EVE Build From Wall-E

Hey guys,

This is my first time posting on here, I've seen some amazing work. Absolutely incredible. I'm just finishing up a Harry Potter Nimbus 2000 build and am looking to start a new project.

I'm wondering if anyone has tried to build EVE from Wall-E yet. I haven't decided if I'm going to attempt to vacuu-form it, build it out of foam and bondo or if anyone has a different method they'd suggest. What do you guys think?

Thanks everyone!

Hi there,

And welcome ... perhaps add a ' ? ' to your title ... then you might attract
the right crowd . . . now it appears as if you have already built an EVE.

Well, if you build it, it sure would be cool if you could somehow use magnets to get the head to levitate.

Thanks Chaim. I'll have to do that next time. I'll post pictures of my progress in this thread though as I go along.

You can bet I'll be doing some research on how to do that successfully. If I can't figure out a cost effective way to keep it in a fixed spot with magnets alone I may be able to use a thin strand of fishing line to keep it tethered.

I'll be excited to see it coming along :)
As for the actual making of it, it depends how durable you want it to be etc. Do you want to be able to make copies of it, or just the one?

I'm not sure yet. No one on here seems to have done one yet so it's certainly something I'd consider making copies. It all depends on how the first one goes.

vac forming makes a lot of sense, it would give you the right kind of finish and nice and lightweight. Cool project idea I am subscribed!

Hey, giving everyone an update so far. I'm still unsure on the finishing but I decided to make a small scale (approx. half size) model first out of styrofoam. I can already tell getting everything perfectly smooth is going to be quite a pain. Here's some of what I've got of the main body so far. Now I'm watching Wall-E for some more reference.
