Ok RFP brain trust, looking for some advice here.
I purchased the Factory Entertainment 1:1 steel She-Ra Sword of Protection for my wife.
Before I bought it, I tried to do my due diligence on it but there is literally no online reviews for it save one here:
I was hoping that this was a one-off issue (or in the case of the guy that made the review videos a two-off) but sadly it looks like this was a manufacturer's defect for all of them as mine has the same issue (screen grab from the above video to show what I mean).
So the question is, should I attempt to have this repaired, there's apparently a blacksmith school close to me, and to me it looks like a matter of clamping together the aluminum tang part, or just return it for a refund? I bought it through Sideshow so I've got 30 days to return it.
There is not really an exchange option as this looks like an issue with all of these swords and of course there's a massive risk to taking it to a third party for an attempted repair as it could damage the sword even more and of course void the limited warranty on it for the return... and this sucker wasn't cheap!
Thoughts and opinions?
