RPF'ers,

Had to post some pictures from this year's Halloween with my wife and 2 1/2 year old son. I had so much fun constructing the Doc Ock costume and my son's Spiderman! Thanks to RPF for being such an invaluable resource for inspiration and knowledge! Tons of awesome stuff in the works at RPF lately (really advanced and artisan jazz!), but feel free to ask me any question about the costumes!

Wow! It looks like you all are having a really great time. All your costumes are pretty amazing. :D

Awesome "team-up"! XD

Wish my parents were that awesome (costuming wise) back then!

How did you manage to keep the arms in place? Are they movable? If not I guess this is more an outdoor costume? I made a spider (the animal) costume with four additional legs that were placed very similar and I had huge problems with doors (I got stuck several times! Then again I was drunk as well, so that might have added to the problem ^^) and furniture and stuff (I knocked down A LOT of stuff with the spider legs, luckily nothing broke).

Thanks, haha!

The arms were constructed using 8-gauge galvenized steel wire. So, they are posable! The back piece is an aluminum sheet, which was cut down. The problem I ran into was attaching the wire so that it would not rotate or fall out of place. My solution was to drill offset holes in the aluminum and weave the wire throughout, which worked perfectly! They are only two strands of wire, one for each pair of arms.

This is pretty cool. Love how you got the whole family into it and love the arms on the Doc Ock.

Thanks, fellow RPF'ers! It's always great to get a little love for all the hard work and it always seems to pay off in the end! Even the long hours spent outlining all of the webs on 'lil spidey's suit with a micron (I don't know how you guys with full size suits do it and keep your sanity?!?) were worth the effort!
