Flashgun Parts I Collected in the Early 80's

I didn't discover that the light sabers were made from photo camera flash guns until 1980. You might find it humorous that I considered myself late to game. That everybody had already bought up all the good stuff and I was combing the earth for the leftover scraps. I didn't realize how lucky I was or that in 2024 people would not only still be interested in all this but that the popularity of this hobby would grow to epic proportions. At 18 years of age I began searching every photography supply shop, antique stores and pester photography studios hunting for the holy grail. I did eventually achieve my goals but I also collected parts that I never did anything with. I've been hauling around a box of parts for 40 years. Can anyone else relate to this?

Good to see you around MK I still have a few Graflex bulbs, reflectors, and bits rolling around. I didn’t find a Graflex until 96’, and that was mail order from the back of a photography magazine.
We certainly do collect boxes of parts as a group. Lol
Your legendary Graflex grip thread back in the day was a trip to read, and your views on Obi Wan Kenobi were hilarious.

I'm glad someone remembers that Graflex thread. That was a lot of fun. I'm not sure it survived the migration to this new platform. Especially since I'm a "New Member". Remind me what my Obi Wan views were.

Shifty Obi Wan lying to Luke to get him to kill Vader as I recall, lol.

Yes, I also remember the Graflex grip thread! You also set the story up in "episodes" if I remember right. LOL!

I remember you mentioning that overnight shipping from England on a small package like that was going to be many hundreds of dollars! LOL!

Great read!!!

That TI2550 takes me back. My father had it and it was our first electronic calculator. My trick was to put it next to an AM radio tuned between stations and depress the buttons. Viola! Instant Star Wars turbo laser sounds. Good times…
