So which is more accuate? The Gandolf staff made by Noble or United Cutlery? I'm trying to figure out which one to buy as a Christmas present for a friend.

Weta have a version which was cast from the moulds of one of the four props.
United Cutlery's Staff I believe was also cast from one of the props too, it's slightly shorter than the Weta version and has different sculpt detail in the crown area. I believe it and the Weta staves are different as they were cast from different props - there were four used in rotation, not to mention the stunt and large-scale versions for Wizard-Dwarf proportions.
Noble Collection's Illuminating Staff is a mystery to me, but given that it was not cast from moulds of the props and that it has an illuminating feature, it would seem less accurate.

The WETA version is dead on accurate (except for the nail :lol). I will post up some pics when I get a chance. Interestingly enough, when I first got it I thought that the paint scheme was off, but then I compared it to what is seen on screen and coloring is actually perfect (which differs from the UC version).

I own the Weta staff and I believe I have matched their staff to several scenes, whereas the prop UC had was probably seen in a majority of scenes.
I do think however, the Weta staff has a better painted lattice and is much lighter than the UC version owing to the fact it's made of fibreglass and the UC of Polyresin.
I think what matters though is that they're both accurate.
Montagar - The nail was only on one of the four props and was required for just that one shot.
The paint scheme will look off all the time. The color grading for the HFR and 3D meant overexposed coloring and sometimes the complete opposite of the actual paint schemes.

I have the UCS staff and it's got a lot against it. It's really heavy and fragile, and the paint is very poor. It may just be the staff that I bought, but I much prefer my weta Radagast staff.
