hey guys i know alot of people use hot glue to glue the thicker foam sheets edge on edge (or a butt joint for any wood workers here) But what does one use for for the thin 2mm foam sheets (the kind in the scrapbooking section of joanns) in making the same joint???

also any tips on fiberglassing (for strength as this will be a casting buck) and getting a nice perfect finish on the surface for said casting

thats what i thought but i was worried about melting it lol the foam is on its way from amazon

I've used 3M Super 77 spray glue and a high-tack industrial strength spray from Harbor Freight with much success. :) Spray on both sides, let sit for a few minutes and press together kind of like contact cement. Little corners that don't get enough spray I just add a bit of the Gel Superglue. It doesn't soak in as much as the watery stuff.

Superglue won't eat the foam, and actually forms a pretty decent bond. It's good for adding bits of trim, the gel is better, like Wiggs said. The liquid stuff dries fast, so if you are using that you have to work fast. and in small sections.
