Han Solo ANH Blaster From RIA, Prev on Pawn Stars

I'm sure the T-tracks and rods, as well as the 3 piece front grill assembly all being plastic pieces glued on, have all fallen off by now. It does seem to have a real scope or at least a good replica because one screen grab does show a number on it, looks like "9761." The flash-hider looks odd, sort of like a old coin that was improperly cleaned. Where is the patina? The only shot showing the rear of the gun does have some stamped numbers - so it may be a real Mauser here.

It looks to me like someone made their own replica out of a mixture of replica parts - and old replicas at that. The FH came from a time when those scallops hadn't been nailed down, and people thought it was GRAY

The mount, I guess it was from when the shifted cradle was noticed, but the knob/lackofdovetail/thumbscrews/ etc, are all old and inaccurate. Could give a clue as to who produced it.

Real mauser, maybe a real scope, looks like a fun project, but sad to see it used this way

Dang just finished watching the episode, I shouldve known something was up when the Armorer from the first star wars showed up, and left within the space of two minutes. Wonder if he just couldnt do it.

Nothing on that aside from the scope is even close. The scope is either possibly real or an insanely involved fake. Almost every single mark matches on the scope... it's actually the only part I was impressed with after seeing this very gun in high res a couple of months ago when it surfaced for authentication.

I rejected everything but the possibility of the scope either being an insanely detailed fake or being real...

The story I was told is that this was built with parts from bapty.

I agree. The scope looks legit.

Scott, can you maybe post some of the photos and some evidences that are making your say that maybe this scope is real? on those picture, I can't even see the brand on the side, I'm not saying it's not there, but I'm not even sure it's there.
cheers

Wait...Chumlee is in jail?!
He was but that was a year or two ago, unless he did something else recently. I know he was charged with sexual abuse on at least one or two women and was caught with some drugs and illegal ammunition in his house, but if I remember right he had bail posted. It always surprised me that they actually let him come back onto the show after all of that. But like I said, unless he did something stupid again (which wouldn't surprise me), this was a year or two ago.

I can’t imagine this is real but it does look cool.

So what happened on the episode?

Didn’t miss much.. not only bold face lies from the owner and armorer who made it..

Which included fake vintage photos they made to look like proof..

This blaster was priced and proven authentic by Steven Gard... who’s only authentic authority is in autographs...

He also priced it at a value of 1 million because the rotj blaster just sold for 500k..

They then brought in jason joiner.. with another one of his fake lightsabers.. so watch the auction sites soon for that one...

Long story short.. these props were proven fake by the professionals, so these guys last ditch effort to score some money is get publicity from pawn stars... they weren’t hoping the pawn stars would buy it, but just to get the publicity...

If you have on demand the episode is

“May the pawn be with you” s17ep10

Amazing what money can do... I stopped watching the show years ago. Only seen 2 episodes since, one because my friend was on it and this one

I have two questions...

Were there Robertson Screws anywhere on this blaster and did the story of its origins include being found in an old storage locker that had been sealed shut since filming ended in 1976?

Lol

...negative

The guy who made the blaster claims he made 4 functioning live fires

He came off very arrogant and rude..

He tells the story to rick, rick replies “so that’s the story?”

“this isn’t the story, it’s the facts!!”

... says the f word.. comes off as a real jerk, even we he leaves he’s like “I had enough”

I’ll record it off my tv tonight for you guys

I spent some time comparing the scopes in hi res as well. I’m not convinced it’s the real deal. I say copy.

After watching this show, I'm completely 100% sure -not only the blaster, but- that everything that was shown was fake. Even the autographed movie poster that Rick bought, had my red flags up. When his "expert" said he'd never seen its like, & it's value was $50,000, I laughed out loud. & then, with NO authentication of the autographs or the poster, Rick buys it for $33 or $34k?!? HAA!!!

Dang, so EVERY star wars prop was fake? Anyone know if the Leia necklace/medals shown were fake as well? Yeah I found it very strange that Rick did not seek to get an autograph check on that poster either. And the armorer left really quickly so that got me suspicious too.

Pawn Stars probably functions something like "Shark Tank." The deals and handshakes on the show are not binding and both parties after the show can do vetting and there are written contracts. Even before filming, there are loose rehearsals and everyone knows what is going to happen before it happens. So it is sort of "semi-reality" TV.
