The BBC are honouring him with 2 hour concert of his music. It'll be on BBC radio 2 at 8pm on Friday the 10th. I know I'll be listening.

I always had this idea that would be really great. Characters in a movie have to go to a music store for whatever reason and need advice on something musical. Well, it would be really funny to have John Williams himself working behind the counter. Then the guys ask him something about an instrument and he responds, "Oh sorry, I only work here, I really don't know anything about the instruments"
So many people probably wouldn't even get the joke, but for us that do, would be perfect.

Keep it kickin John and make us some awesome more music.

Why, I was just looking up his library of music last night. Though I think he's lost his touch in recent years, his ability to know when there needs to be music and when there needs to be silence to maximize emotional affect (an incredibly important thing many composers and filmmakers forget now) is still on point. It will be a very sad day indeed when we're posting music of his in a similar but opposite thread on Mr. Williams.
