I think Luka built a version for his “Slice of Life “ movie project. Dmaul is probably right about seeing it in normal lighting but that could be solved by how the model is presented. It could also be visually better if the roof/ platform towers and Photoetch antennae ,now missing and seen in some of the behind the scenes images , were rebuilt / added to it.
Good clear reference is scarce though.

This looks a little better:
The Prop Store gives the dimensions as 40 1/4’’ x 33 1/2’’ x 60 1/2’’ (102 cm x 85 cm x 154 cm). Honestly I was visualizing it as being around 18” tall, not over 3 ft! It really makes one appreciate the scale of all the cityscape set pieces and the unappreciated details we don’t see in each prop. Love it!

Do you mean the 42" long Hasbro Falcon? The one with no internals? That would be a rough starting point as all the existing detail molded on would have to be removed... and it is polypropylene plastic, very hard to cut, carve or sand. Perhaps one of the Legacy 3.75" figure toy Falcons, which might be molded in polystyrene.

Yes, thank you for saving me learning the hard way. I had no information on how it was constructed and expected that it was the standard ABS construction.
A hot knife would work for polypropylene, just watch the fumes. A dremel would sand and carve it, just be prepared for a lot of grit and dust.

Shaping is the least of worries with pp. Try painting it.
Like most of us I’ve known about this easter egg in the BR movie since the 1990s but I always thought they used the Ertl/ATM kit. I didn’t realize this was a custom built piece.
Am I correct that someone was scratch-building a proper SW Falcon before the model was repurposed as a building?

I also KNEW about it being as a background set piece, but not sure where, and if part of the Falcon was used or what. Not sure how many years now its been, but I found its literally the Falcon just standing up right.
Seeing these pics is pretty cool and how its painted.
The look is quite deceiving. Without the yardstick, I too would have thought it to be like 18 to 20 inches.
Its always fun to see all the behind the scenes pics from Blade Runner. So much awesome work.

It might be easier build to just to follow something similar to the original build with plywood ( maybe replaced with inexpensive mdf) and sheet styrene.
In relation to scaling, the model components will give some relationship to size. I looked at this particular prop a few years ago searching for clues / i.d.s to … a particular building….. ( no help I may add) .
Offhand there on one of your images above are kit parts - rear storage bins off a Panther tank, Flak 88.
In other areas parts from a halftrack ,Leopold gun, etc.
There is some Pyramid etch hidden in the section between the mandibles. I never did find the diamond pattern pieces - could be Plastruct ( maybe).
