Hasbro uses Force FX?

Well, if you check the classic Hasbro electronic saber rendition of the Dooku, apart from being oversized, it isn't all that bad. Since I'd assume they're actually attempting a better pass at accuracy with the FX line, it should (fingers crossed) be okay.

Actually, that’s exactly the version I was thinking of. I would guess that since they will probably be using their standard FX blade the hilt will once again be enlarged to compensate. I will say that every new release seems to be a bit nicer, so I’m sure as things continue to progress so will the overall scale appearances.

On another note; I recall a rumor right before MR lost their licensing for these that the next generation of FX sabers would have removable blades. Has anyone else heard anything about this possibly becoming reality with Hasbro taking over? That would really be a great touch for the folks using these for costuming.

Never happen. Way too much liability with what is basically a toy. The first time a kid swung one and the blade came out and went through a tv or another kid and there would be a lawsuit.

Man, this stuff just runs rampant. The sabers are exactly the same as MRs.

When it said MR on the box the FX sabers were produced by a manufacturing company in Hong Kong called Pacific Industries under a contract with MR. Now that it says Hasbro on the box they are produced by a manufacturing company in Hong Kong called...gasp...Pacific Industries. It's the same design schematics and the same molds and everything. Probably mostly the same people and the same quality standards.

The ONLY saber that has been changed is the ROTS Obi-Wan. The changes are mostly to reduce the weight of the older MR version. The chrome has been reduced and changed over to polished aluminum, the brass neck is now actually a brass sleeve instead of shiny brass coating, the outer sleeve is thinner, it has a new battery holder and runs on AAA instead of AA. It weighs about as much as the LED Luke ROTJ. Reports vary on blade brightness and sound with the new battery holder and AAA batteries.

SOOOOO...

No the motion detection isn't any different. It's the same technology. Sound is the same as well.

No there's no added plastic. All the sabers are exactly the same except the Obi-Wan and I saw pics of a guy taking one apart. Didn't see any extra plastic except the new blade holder.

No there's no idea to make removable blades due mostly to liability. 3 watt LEDs are considered class-3 lasers.

Yes there's been interviews saying they are working on Dooku and Obi TPM and another unnamed saber. Rebel Scum reported recently they were working on Dooku, Ahsoka, Sidious, and another Luke Skywalker saber. Not sure if that would be ESB or another ROTJ. Obi-Wan TPM was no longer on the list.
