[help] reinforcement of armor

Have a foam armor coated in smooth on polyurethane resin, looking to get a smoother look using bondo and wondering do I need to reinforce the interior of the armor with fiberglass or anything to prevent warping when I put on the bondo. Is it fine as is or do I need to a really strong backing so no issues happen when i put on the filler.
