If Stevie Ray...

...had lived on, would he have looked a bit like Tommy Lee?

I was at his last show with Clapton and Cray, freaking amazing. Now I have to put on couldn't stand the weather...he does resemble Tommy Lee Jones.

You were at Alpine? That's incredible! Love to hear any stories about show, it's a favorite of mine. Cheers my friend.

The encore with all three playing "sweet home Chicago" was legendary. My friend was supposed to go but his girlfriend didn't want to, said he'd catch Stevie the next time he was in town.
He said the same thing for Garcia's last show at Soldier Field. :(

I saw Jerry at Soldier Field before as well..

and a couple of times.. JUST hanging in the parking lot! LOL

I dont even remember when the last time I was Alpine Valley though!.. LONG TIME!

Closer in age than I'd have thought...

Tommy Lee was only eight years older. '46 versus '54

Stevie Ray would have been about about 64 years old now...

He was truly one of the greatest guitarists of all time.

I've got a few people hook on Stevie Ray over the years.
One of my pals became a huge fan, going & buying all his music. Then, a few weeks later, said he found another guitarist he wanted me to hear. So he popped the CD in as we were going to lunch. I knew who it was on the first pluck of the string. It was Stevies brother Jimmy. I can't stand Jimmy! So, before the second note was plucked, I ejected the CD & frisbee'd the disk out the car window as we drove, & told him to never play Jimmy Vaughan around me again. Eventually he thanked me

Hard to image we only had him for 5-10 years...
