Indiana Jones Grail Knight Painting - 3 Mega High Res Pics

I was unsure if to post this in the free paper props sub-forum or here, since its technically a painting (?) on wood (?), 'part' of a prop (?) etc.

Anyway, we all know its this

And we all know where this scan comes from :angel

Most of the available pics have the top 1 cm or so a lighter colour than the rest of the painting, because they are all scanned from the same source.

Also, due to this reflection present when the original prop was photographed, if available images are not enhanced with real gold leaf 'in real life', the gold leaf is almost always invariably also almost white (as seen above).

Here is the result of around 2 full days work on the original archive image, totally corrected, amongst many others, for the top lighter part.

Save to your desktop and enjoy. Once again, Happy New Year all :)

Thank you very much! This looks very nice. :)
Anyone know the dimensions of the wooden tablet this is shown on?

To quote BazzanoJones from COW, who is very likely 100% correct :

-------------------------------------------------------

I think the measures written on the book "From Star Wars to Indiana Jones" are wrong.
With the movie screen shots I've estimated a realistic dimension.

The paint it's about 12"x 8" 3/4
The wood planks are 15" 1/2 x 11" 1/2

HTH :)

Thank you for sharing, and happy new year!

And here is an even sharper version I made, with the same top part fixed.

I wasn't entirely satisfied with this, but you may wish to play around with the balances a little & fix it to taste :)

This one even has the fold / visible crease in the centre removed.

.... and the original image for you to play around with as you please :)

PS - Save the last 2 images in a single folder on their own, & flick repeatedly between them to see the differences / enhancements.

Sorry, I don't know how to create a gif :lol

EDIT : I just learnt how on line :lol

Not too sure what paint would be best... I'm not sure what paint Andreas' painting is on the link I posted but it looks good!

I just think Andreas' has a real nice finish to it, the wood looks perfect and the overall finish excellent.

I think I'm going to see about having this printed on canvas for myself, the Wal-Mart in my town can do a 8x10 for $30, but does anyone know the type of wood that was used?

Any chance the file(s) could be posted again? I'm trying to get my hands on a digital, hi-res image of the Leap of Faith painting and only find poor quality images via Google. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Not sure if this what you are looking for, but it's maybe better than the "poor quality images" that you found on Google.
