Hi! Sorry for the lack of response.
My learned lessons are:
1) Tubes are too long
2) Stronger inner wire
3) Lighter weight on the blade parts
4) Should follow the video above to make the tubes/wires stronger
5) Make it lighter in weight as a whole or better support to balance the weight (e.g. using a backpack instead of duct taping the contraption to a t-shirt around his body)
6) Make the entire thing smaller since he's a boy
7) Gorilla duct tape is awesome
Overall though, he enjoyed it for about 30 minutes. After that, he wanted it off because of the weight, the blade points were also hitting the back of his legs, and it was making him slower in treat-or-treating. He did get a lot of compliments which he liked.
Thank you, everyone, in guiding me through this adventure! I have a LOT of admiration for those who make their own costumes.
