Kermit’s Banjo from The Muppet Movie

Hi-ho! So I’m going to be documenting my build here, to keep me honest.

I decided to build a replica Kermit poser puppet, sealed at the bottom, and wanted to display him sitting on a log of driftwood. Well, in a very “If You Give A Mouse a Cookie” situation, if I’m going to build a Kermit, I really need to build a banjo as well.

After much searching, and screen shots, and rewatches of the film, I feel ready. I bought some nice finished pine, some birch, some poplar, some stain, and got to work. Looks to me I’ll be making about 5 of these little guys. Just rough cuts now.

Well, took this back up after a long hiatus. But I had a few hours of down time at the fire house so I rendered this up. Still have a few more components to design, but it’s coming along!

I don’t know if this is any help. Muppet Movie Kermit's banjo Thread. This is on my jobs to finish on a cold day. As I’m not an arduino person, it hasn’t kicked yet. If you’re interested I can send you the files.

It’s a great project I’m watching and following.
At one point I was going to make this with him. It’s a poster from a New York exhibition, the poster was on the wall in the London creature shop behind are wall of muppet fabric and part. When we moved shops from Hampstead to candem town. I was one of the last people there and kept this poster from going in the skip. I worked for Jim for 10 of my best years.
