Class II Imperial Star Destroyer "Avenger"
After over a year of planning and building, the Kuat Drive Yards is unveiling the Class II Imperial Star Destroyer “Avenger”. I spent a lot of time researching books and pictures with the intent to accurately build one of the most iconic starships in the Star Wars Universe. My main goal was to build a movie cannon Star Destroyer, with the addition of a detailed mini-figure interior. All of the work is from my own creation/design, but there were some small areas that I used from other Lego models. My main inspiration came from seeing a builder take the 10030 UCS Star Destroyer and put an interior in it, I wanted to take that and do it on a much bigger and better scale. I also have to give credit to Erik Varszegi, Anio, Brickplumber, Cavegod, Rook and other builders whose large builds also inspired me to build the Avenger. Also a lot of credit goes to my wife for supporting me through the build. Thanks goes out to the members of the Greater Florida Lego Users Group (GFLUG) who let me show the Avenger for all four days of Star Wars Celebration VI. The Avenger was well received and was given a lot of awesome feedback from the attending fans. It was even given two thumbs up by Erik Varszegi, who was quite impressed with the Avenger. So without further adieu, I present the Class II Imperial Star Destroyer “Avenger” and please leave me any constructive criticism.

My sons are into LEGO Starwars. I dont know if I dare show them this... :lol

I love it, and the likeness and proportions are really nice. The sections and details are really cool. How much money did it take to get this beauty done?

I do not have price cost, probably more than I want to know lol. Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it.

That's so cool. The creativity is awesome...as is the attention to detail! Bravo! :thumbsup

One question...where's the loo?

Ummm there is no privy or chow hall/kitchen...kinda ran out of room. Next project maybe.

:lol

Put a porta-potty on the rear of the bridge...and a Domino's pizza sticker on the side.

I re-read the description, and it's even more incredible now knowing it's all lego with no additional skeletal structure.

A real nice treat for me to see. Thanks for sharing and this thing is just pure awesome. Though I wonder if you would have the patience to build one that would be at the actual minfig scale?

How on earth did you ever stockpile so many grey bricks?

Great work.

A website called Bricklink. You can order individual pieces in the color you want and in bulk. It's a awesome website!

Well it would be around 135 feet long, so cost and frame strength would be questionable.

Thanks for the awesome feedback guys. This Star Destroyer will be displayed at a Lego Science Fiction Convemtion in Memphis the second weekend in November if anyone is interested in seeing it.

Truly legendary... My son is pulling out his buckets as we speak.... Although I think we will be a few thousand short hehe.

This is fantastic!! I have the super star destroyer kit but this blows it away!! Incredible work
