LOTR Film -Leaf of Lorien Pin

So, between big builds, I've been working on making a replica leaf of Lorien pin from the LOTR films. Just a little something for my own shelf and to give to friends and family. This first one is not quite where I want it to be yet. I want to re-do the leaf with finer veining and a thinner border and work on the paint a bit. I'm not sure if I'll change anything with the wirework, perhaps use a larger gauge wire, this is silver plated 18 gauge jeweler's wire. The leaf is cold cast in resin with cast magic silver bullet powder, with some black enamel paint to deepen the "enameled" area and green transparent modeler's acrylic.

Thanks! The leaf itself is cast in Smooth on 65d resin tinted to grey with so-strong black pigment and dusted the mold with cast magic silver bullet powder, makes a decent faux metal. The wires are silver plated copper.

To make the leaf, I cut the basic form out of a bit of styrene, then drew on the trim and veining in fabric paint, then molded and cast it.

Very well done - I'd never have guessed that it wasn't full metal. :)

The original is one of my favorite movie props of all time. It's simple, yet very elegant in design.
