Luke ESB Lightsaber – Can you build a 2004 MR Force FX Hilt into a quality display piece?

great photos
Cheers Halliwax, always appreciate your comments and support!
This looks amazing job very well done.
Thanks so much szkoda1974, it was a really fun project and I'm so pleased with the results!
Pitting? It's called weathering, and it wouldn't be a proper lightsaber without it! Awesome job on the saber and the stand. Display it proudly.
I agree, the pitting gives it a nice vintage look! Amazing work on the build
Cheers Tan Djarka and MustangMando! You're absolutely right, it's most notable on one side as well which you'd totally get from use. Could be from the hand positions on the hilt or rubbing against clothing when hung on a belt. Just adds to the story of the piece!

I think the saber looks great!

If the pitting was really bothering you, you could try lightly dry-brushing a matching silver paint over the area and then wipe it off with a cloth so the paint only stays in the depressions/pits and use washes to blend the finish to a uniform color. Another option might be to use something like Alclad paste and apply/rub/polish all the metal areas for a uniform finish.
