Mary Poppins a la Disney Parks

Starting in on Miss Poppins this week, and I'm making the Disney Parks version. The big differences between the two are the subtle details on the bodice, the fit of the sleeves, and the petticoat (though I love the pale pink petticoat of the film version! May eventually have to make that...) I'm also doing the parasol, but that will likely come after the dress is finished.

For reference:

I've worked in costuming there, so I happen to know it's a 7-gore skirt -- but to keep the organza seams to a minimum, I'm going with 5. Otherwise I hope to hit every gospel detail. =) Pics to follow! I'm beginning with the hat, I think.

This is BEAUTIFUL! You must be a fabulous seamstress! Absolutely spendid!....Oh wait, I just have to say it....
It's supercalifragilisticexpeladocious!

Just realised I never posted a follow up to this!

The one above was my reference, not me =) But it was a pretty straightforward project, the only fix I'm rather proud of is the hat. I didn't want to pull a form in Fosshape, and I needed a design to keep my hair relatively unmussed. So I made a flat-top hat, then stacked concentric felt circles on top to create the dome. I then covered that in felt and pulled a stretch charmeuse over it, and voila. A round hat that would sit on top of my hair.
