Master Replicas Assault Phaser Battery Pack Issue

Hi there,
Hoping for some help on this issue.
I have a Master Replicas Assault Phaser. Foolishly left the batteries in the battery pack and they leaked.

The prop is powered by a battery pack that acts like a pistol magazine. The acid affected the lower contact terminal.

Phaser doesn't work.

I've done my best to clean up the corrosion. I've used vinegar, sand paper and even a rust remover.

The light at the top of the battery pack now glows dimly, but still can't power the rest of the phaser.

Anyone have experience with taking the batter pack/magazine apart? I suspect there is more corrosion to clean up that I can't see.

Thanks!

I recommend some pictures of what the contacts look like, now. Hopefully, you “dabbed” on these anti-corrosive liquids?

My first thought is to make sure you are trying brand new batteries and to blow out the the contacts, etc. with a dust removing air can, or other air gun, to make sure everything is as clean and dry as possible.

Yeah, unfortunately battery corrosion is hit and miss at best. I’ve treated well over 50 coroded battery compartments in my life and I’m pretty sure I’ve used every recipe for correction under the sun. The results are always 50/50. It’s sounds like you tried the top best methods out there. Sometimes you just have to accept that it’s simply too far gone without re-wiring.

Does anyone have experience taking apart the magazine/battery pack of the MR Assault Phaser? I suspect I need to get in a bit deeper to clean out any more corrosion that I can't immediately see. Thanks in advance!
