Since Long before I got in to building & collecting props I've collected C-3PO's, I mean like anything C-3PO related I'm not even entirely sure why as he was never my favourite character (in the process I have also acquired an unseemly number of R2-D2's as a kind of weird bi product).
but anyway the thing that has always alluded me was a life size 3PO helmet, when I properly got in to 1-1 props they were always either way too expensive for my meagre means or kits on eBay that I knew I wouldn't be able to do a decent job on (& were probably recasts anyway)
whilst I was at Celebration in London I impulsively picked up one of the AC Worldwide Bluetooth Speakers, I wasn't interested in the speaker particularly (although it is actually pretty good) I just wanted a life size 3PO
i actually don't know if it is 1-1 scale but it's got to be pretty close
I know it isn't 100% screen accurate by any means but that's never been the be all & end all of props for me & it looks like 3PO, its shiny & gold & it's good enough for me (+ it plays music :lol)
The finish/plating seems nice (you get white gloves to handle it) the only thing that niggles me a bit are the neck bolts which are angled down slightly
its super hard to take a decent picture of it due to all the reflections (& for some reason it can look a bit distorted in pics) but in the flesh I think it looks pretty good especially for the price (it wasn't sideshow prices)
I couldn't see that anyone had posted pics of one on here so I thought I would just in case anyone was interested :lol
so so far no one who's seen it on my shelf noticed it was a speaker the stand/base is pretty subtle
3PO Purists & audiophiles may throw their arms up in disgust but I like it anyway
